What have you learned this semester at your internship? Did you achieve your goals? Is this a career you will pursue after you graduate? Explain your reasoning.
In the beginning of the year i did not learn much. I was doing the same thing with the same people and i had to wait until the end of the semester in order to experience something new.
I learned alot with the lights. I thought that Mr. Oliver let me do alot but the responsibilites they allowed me to have, i was able to learn more from experience. I took apart a light grid, learned the parts of a light and how to focus the lights.
I would say that i achieve my goals.
This might be a career that i pursue. I am still iffy about it. I might go into more than just lighting design. I liked watching the rest of the design process as well as lights.
i havent learned anything during this semester of my internship. i was just staeming dresses. i felt as if my goals werent achieved since i didnt learn anything about the business itslef. however i still want this career to be the career of my dreams, i still plan on pursuing this dream regardless of how long it takes me. ( i will be realistic though)
I learned a lot about managing stress. I can't say I'm any kind of expert now, but I think that the hectic semester I had because of the newspaper job in conjuction with AP courses has hardened me to seemingly impossible workloads. I have dashed around campus interviewing, stayed up all night writing and editing, outran numerous deadlines and gained 10 pounds. I am now prepared for college.
My goals were to gain experience and get things published. When I first found out about my internship I wasn't sure they would allow me to write for them. I'm glad that I was able to write so many articles and enhance my portfolio. The experience I got with meeting deadlines and writing professionally will carry on into college.
I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to be a reporter. I understand the constant stress and lack of pay a reporter goes through, and often for stories they are not passionate about. I would much rather write what I like to write about and I don't mind having to get a day job in order to do it.
Is this a career you will pursue after you graduate? Explain your reasoning. I learned the value of professionalism and work experience. I learned how to work with others and how to work by myself i learned the importance of co-workers and i think i reached my goals. This internship help me decide what it is i want to do in my life and what i can expect if i choose to go in the direction of poli sci. I think i will go in this direction after graduation but i guess we will see. My life is like a juggling act its crazy and i still have a long way to go :)
At my internship i learned alot about animals and how to treat them. however, it pushed me away from being a vet in my future. i am more focused now on being a zoologist. i love animals and even tho i chose not to be a vet this experience has taught me so much and allowed me to meet so many great people.
Yesss, elementary education is 100% the career that I am going to pursue after college! I know a lot of people hate kids, but I adore them. I don't know how to explain it, but just something about them makes me want to help them succeed :)
I learned so much about teaching from my internship. From watching Mrs. Hunter, you have to explain things in simple and creative ways that kids will understand. That goes for reading, math, etc. I liked the projects that she assigned and how she read to the class, asking them questions about the books. The students are all so smart! Also, kids this age need lots of encouragement, so it's good to compliment them every now and then.
I noticed that when I was with kindergarten, those children have lesser attention spans and were constantly moving around the room. After being with both grades, I think I would be more comfortable with first grade. At first I thought I would like kindergarten better, so I'm glad I got to intern with Mrs. Hunter because it changed my mind, and she's very nice. I'm definitely going to miss interning there. So I would say my internship was very productive and I reached my goals which were to gain more knowledge and just to have fun :)
I have learned a lot in this semester at my internship, i found out i get to go in the summer for more fun. Thats exciting. I did achieve my goals, and yes i will pursue a career in this field. I really enjoyed my internship
I have learned that it is a really fun and helpful job. I know this is the career I want to pursue when I get out of high school. I did achieve my goals except for I wish I could have been more hands on if there wasnt the votech students there too.
I learned way too much from my internship to list on a blog. A few examples are the various diseases associated with dogs and cats, the major differences between dogs and cats, various procedures for dogs and cats, how to spot bacteria and yeast on skin scrapes, how to diagnose crystal formations in bladders by examining a urine sample, and spotting out worms in fecal samples.
I definately achieved my goals by attaining basic knowledge of the realistic career: not the fantasy world of childhood dreams where veterinarians get to pet kitties and play with dogs all day.
I do still want to become a vet, but I am a bit more hesitant now considering there is so much time required in college to get the degree.
Wow, I have learned and benefitted so much from this course that I could not possibly sum everything up. However, a few significaqnt things that gained in taking this executve internship class was that Theatre is not suppose to be my major. The thing is, I love the spotlight, I Love performing but I dont love being on stage but rather film. Therefore, I have decided to major in business marketing to later work as a film producer for companies like Pixar, Touchstone Pictures, WB network and so much more. With, a business degree I am offered unlimited opportunities for success. In choosing, this career I feel secure, and happy with my decision and see a bright future for myself. I thank this class for my enlightment, which came just in time.
the most interesting thing i learned this semester was how to prepare the Operating room and table for surgery.there are tchniques for how to keep the table and equipment sterile. i had to learn where each peice of equipment must be placed. i did acheive my goals of observing an actual cesarean section and helping prep for surgery. i know that i want to major in nursing but i do not know if i want to specialize in Labor & Delivery. i still am unsure if i want to do pediatrics or not.
I have learned more in this internship then I have in my entire highschool career. Not oly did I learn skills in this job but also life skills. I definatly plan on continueing in this career. It brings joy to me to see children grow and learn, therefore I never want to lose the oppurtunities I will have from furthering my career.
Through my first internship at the pediatric clinic, I realized that medicine is definitely going to be my career of choice in the future. However, my second internship at Achievements Learning center further strenghtened my love of working with children, making me realize that pediatrics is definitely the field I am going to pursue. Through both internships I learned about disease prevention, diseases themselves, how to take care of your body adequately, and everything there is to know about working with (nearly) two year olds. Since my only real goal was to learn as much as I could, I definitely accomplished it successfully.
well at my first internship i didn't really learn a whole lot. i mean true, Officer Newman did give a few pointers to help with the whole CSI thing and all the students that came through his office did reinforce my decision to forgo teaching but thats about it.
my internship with mr. Gilliland was basically like being a teacher aide but it was still fun. i learned how to use a copy machine properly(not a word!). but the most important thing i learned is that if you are a senior, and you want to be able to attend all the events seniors get to go to, make sure you have all your fines and debts taken care of!!!11
i learned alot at my internship i learned how to scan and how to differentiate between different dieases and i also learned how to tell if something is cancer or not.(it looks like it has fingers)this intrenship has showed me that ultrasound is ultimitly the career that i want to pursue.
I have learned so much at my internship. I learned basically the ins and outs of an orthodontic office. I learned things that I never knew about at all and that being an orthodontist was MUCH harder than I anticipated. Yes, I acheived what I wanted to learn because now I am more prepared and know exactly what to expect if I do go into this field. I do not think this will end up being my future career, I think I am leaning towards a degree in sports managment. But I am glad I did this internship and I would do it agian if I could.
At my internships I have learned so much. At Peace River I learned that although pediatrics is specifically the healthcare of children, there is a lot of interaction and time spent with the child’s parents and family. I have learned that it is important to be sensitive and truthful about the child’s health conditions when speaking with the family members and that respect is an essential factor when working with such a large diversity of people and families from different backgrounds and walks of life. Throughout my internship at Achievements Learning Center, I learned that although you are working with children all of the same age, each child is an individual and learns at a different rate. I also learned that while it is important to be patient with each child and to treat them equally, you must also be consistent in what you ask them to do and consistent in which actions and behaviors you allow. At my internship in Labor and Delivery at Peace River, I really didn’t get to observe all too much but I did get a chance to compare Labor and Delivery to Pediatrics. With this comparison I have come to the conclusion that I enjoyed working in Pediatrics much better. In pediatrics I was able to interact with the kids more whereas in Labor and Delivery I realized that you mostly work with the parents until the baby is born. At my internships I definitely achieved my goals. I was able to see each of the careers I was interested in up close and personal and I was able to compare them to each other. I was able to decide which profession would be best for me in the future and which career I will enjoy the most. My internships have strengthened my decision to work in pediatrics. Therefore, my internship at Peace River shadowing a nurse in Pediatrics has shown me that this is the profession I will purse after I graduate. I enjoyed my Pediatric internship the most and found it to be the most intriguing. While I absolutely loved working with the children at the day care, I have a strong passion to work in the medical field so working as a pediatric nurse practitioner is what I plan to pursue in the future.
I've learned so much this semester. I've learned how to strive for something even though it may seem to take alot of time but i know if i want it bad enough then i can achieve it. Also i've learned school wide tatics and important imformation that will def. help me in my career in the future. My internship was the best thing that could've happen to me because i know now that this is something i want to do my whole life and i know that it will not be a waste of time and money for myself.
I learned a whole lot from my internship, like how to cook a bunch of new things, and how to manage a small restaurant. I also learned that, yes, I would love to be in this career on the cooking side of it, such as a chef. However, I found out that I would never be able to be a teacher, kids are not my thing! Yes, I reached my goals, they were to please my sponser, lonce again, and to enjoy myself. For, I had already learned that I wanted this profession.
I have learned alot at my intern, both of them. I was very releved when going into the vet intern. I got to learn about what the career was all about, even though I dont think it is for me I enjoyed it. And with coach allen i feel like I learned stuff that I can use in everyday life.
