One study habit that has helped me a lot throughout the years is re-reading the chapter we are being tested on the day before the test. I just skim over the text and then over the notes we've taken in class and the information just gets stuck in my head for the next day. It's great when we have a multiple choice test for example because the answer just pops out at you. There's no need to fuss over process of elimination or anything.
Well when I have to study I usually just write the information over and over and over again on paper. It sounds simple but it works for me. Writing the information so I can see it helps me to remember it better. Sometimes I use index cards, such as when I have to memorize vocabulary. Also, I have found within the last year that I get better grades if I study at night.
i normally do not study because my memory is so terrible that it wont matter how long or when i study i cant remember anything. but there was this one time where i waited until the last minute to study and i remembered a whole lot of information on the test. so while it may not be the most effective study habit for most i find that learning the information and then waiting until the last minute to review it really helps me.
It's a strange thing, but I find that when I talk to my mom about something I'm learning it becomes clearer in my head.
I normally don't talk very much because I don't have much that is interesting to say. However, my mom is very tolerant of my occasional ramble about anything from some biological concept to an issue I have with a story I'm writing. I remember talking to her about Spanish grammar, glycosis (first step in the breakdown of complex sugars to make ATP), the symbolism in my story for AP Lit, and many more things.
She never really absorbs all of it, but I greatly appreciate the fact that she listens. Telling her things allows me to easily memorize them and expand on what I've learned.
One study habit that has really helped me over the years is reading my notes over and over. I also find reading the chapter in the book helpful as well. When I read the chapter in the text book, then read over my notes, I remember the material much better. I have also found that by relating the material to something that I've learned in the past helps me remember it better. The use of acronyms is another study habit i find useful too.
One study habit that has helped me through the years is memorizing things before the test. I just keep reading things over and over again and then it sticks in my head. It really helps a lot and i always remember things i memorize. It definally is the best way for me.
One study habit that has helped me over the years has been when I read the information over and over again before a test. I have a really good memory and once I look at the information alot I am able to remeber it. That is why I can remeber all phone numbers and addresses all I have to look at it for a long time once and I have it in my head.
I think the best study habit I have is to get with a group of friends and go over the material together in a way that each person can understand. This really helps when it comes to studying stories or reading material because you get different points of view on the same material. The problem is, sometimes you can feel that the way you view it is always right, but there is always another way too look at it.
On the contrary, if I am studying alone, I just want to be in a quiet place with a very small amount of distractions. As most of you notice, I easily get side-tracked by friends and other sources of entertainment.
I think the best study habit i have is when i study towards the last minute, the day before the test or like the class before the class. That way it stays in my mind. If i study a long time before hand i do not do well. I also do well with a group of friends so i can get others ideas incorporated into my mind.
I usually have to be in a quiet area otherwise i like spaz out and i can not pay attention. Like not going on facebook the night before a test at all. because for some reason facebook sucks me in and i always find peeps to talk to. its just bad.
The study habit that I use, that has helped me over the years, is re-reading my notes. Before a test i always look over my notes, to make sure I get everything.
I have tried numerous study methods and I found that re-reading my notes and doing practice problems help me hold on to the information for longer periods of time. The practice problems also help prepare me for test because I can expect what will be on the test.
I have tried so many different ways to study. But I actually found out that they are different for every course you take. The one that helps me in almost any class I take is the teaching method. In anatomy, for example, I learn a lot in one class and everyday we have a quiz on what we learned the day before. So what I have been doing is reading over what we learned, and basically teach my mom what I learned in class today. It is sort of going by the saying; to prove you know something, teach it to someone. Once the quiz or test comes I feel fully prepared for it. This method takes the boring out of studying and helps you actually get interested and work on the material you are learning in class.
One study habit that has helped me over the years is reading over the complete chapter again in the book. Sometimes, even twice. The reason I do this is because by reading it, it gets the material "stuck" in my head and soemtimes it goes over stuff that I have forgotten or did not write down in notes. Sometimes if i'm in a rush I will just look at my notes, but I realize through the years that just reading the entire chaper(s) from the book helps a lot more.
One study habbit i have that has always helped me in the past study for huge tests is having a study buddy. My best friend and i always study together and what i dont understand she usually does and what she doesnt im pretty good at. We always have a good time and get alot of understanding of what we are learning. I have tried others like independent study, flash cards, cramming and nothing works better then having my study buddy :)
One study habit that have always helped me through out my high school years of studying was jus re-reading my notes from that class repeatdly so it is embedded in my brain
i like highlighting the important things in my notes that i know are going to be on the test because it brings my eyes right to them and makes me remember it more.
one study habit i have found that works for me is reviewing my notes the night before the test and the day of the test before i take it. this just helps me keep it fresh in my mind. something else that helps me is highlighting the main points or important things so that when i go back to study i dont miss them.
one study habit that I've been using over the couple of years is like setting up a pre test for myself. For example ill use the study habit when i study for anatomy and physiology. Ehen i study A+P i always read what im studying about three times.. i memorize it.. then i cover up the answers and read it back to myself with out looking.
One study habit I have used is flash cards. I use them for vocabulary words, symblos, etc. When I was in Anatomy it helped alot! I would trace a picture of the bone on one side & write the name on the other. I got through Anatomy much easier then I thought I would.
A study habit that has helped me through the years is looking over all of the information right before the tests. That is how I get through almost all of my tests.
One study habit that has helped me throughout the years is the use of flashcards. I retain all the information and I am always ready for the test. In making, flashcards i read the material, write it on to the card, and then study it.In result I usually have everything memorized.
