ha i guess i forgot alll about this part lol. so ydnt i jus sum up the week. so monday i met officer newman and aquainted with everyone in the front office. tuesday i just sat in newmans office an d same thing with wednesday. but then thursday it got exciting. there was a stolen bike reported. it hapnd on the third and i helped catch the guy who did it. at first we athought that a man-like girl did it bust after reexamining the video feed and some inside sources we found it to be a dude and nailed him. im jus sry i wasnt there friday to see how it all pannede out.
so today there was a missing cell phone incident. apparently the owner dropped it in passing to her next class. the battery fell out and the kid who picked it up returned it after i got there. the actual phone switched hands about 3 times before getting back to the owner.
i was late getting over there today so i only got about 45 minutes in. nuthen hapnd relly new developement on the bike incident. apparently the victims parents want to act on it...
so today i got the and newman was the cafeteria so i went there and sat with my "adopted sister." theni got pisswed cuz newman arrested sum1 earlier and i wasnt there...i always miss out on the good stuff. and after that i sat in his office and played computer games while he was in his car doin police work until i had ta go.
soo i dont mean to sound stupid, but i forget what a code white is. in fact i dont even know what one is. But wow some things you deal with def sounds like middle school stuff. are you ever going to like deal with people who fought in school? or are you not allowed to deal with that?
Alright so I agree with Mrs. del Castillo- you need to write more professionally. I know it's fun when texting your friends, but this is a college course, remember that!
But it looks like you are getting to experience a lot of different situations over at the middle school and I can tell that you are learning new things from Officer Newman.
ok so today started the same way as always...i went to the cafeteria to meet my adopted sister for lunch. before i left, officer newman put a cut up hot dog in mr salamari's refridgerator that looked like a severed finger. i tried to get a coupel of ketchup packets to add to the "severed finger", but nothing doing. i also caught mr salamari in a tape trap again, he always falls for that. towards the end of the day there was a fire drill...which wasnt very exciting.
so today i scoped out the cafeteria due to a rumor that there would be a fight. i patrolled the campus with meg(campus security). newman had to leave early to go monitor the crossing gaurd at glen allen
so all i did basically was go to the cafeteria, come back to newmans office, talk with one of the old campus security guards from here, tape up mr salamaries doorway and go home.
so today started off the same as usual then i had to sit in the front office for like an hour and i actually think i fell asleep. but you are now looking at the official afternoon pa system anounceer on tuesdays and thursdays.
ok so for the past the three times thyat ive been over at the middle school, ive done absolutely nothing but sit in newmans office and browse the interet
guess what i did today... detective work? no. solve a case? no. break up a fight? no. just sat on my ___ and played computer games the whole time i was there.
awww broderick :( It doesn't sound like you're having fun at all. Frankly, it doesn't even seem like you're learning anything about this field at all. Maybe you should consider switching over to another internship if it's possible. If you absolutely can't, i really hope that one gets beter for you. I'll get my little cousin to stir up some mischief over at the middle school so you can actually see some action! lol
so on tuesday i didnt really do much, mainly due the fact that i had to leave earlier than usual because my sister was supposed to have surgery but it got pushed back to today. now today started of on a low note. i wastold i cant sit with my sister at lunch anymore becausse there had been complaints from teachers about me, a 12th grader, sitting with 8th graders. i kinda understand what with all the stories of teachers dating high school seniors. but it still upsets me. i mean, do i rally look like a bad guy?
so yesturday was my last day at heron creek. i said my goodbyes and all that. i am now going to try and get involved in the NPPD ride along program and see what i can get out of that.
ok so i went to the north port pd and got the paperwork in. now i am just waiting for it to get processed and for them to figure out who ill be riding with.
Well Broderick, if you would like to know why they were laminated, then go ask Mrs. Hunter! Haha :) And I agree with Jessica, you need to be in an internship where you are learning and experiencing new things, not just sitting around and playing video games. I know today is your first day and I hope it goes good and that it will be worth while :)
i think its cool that you intern at HCMS. I know that when i went there if it wernt for the people having all the patience they did with me and my sister especially the SROs i would be much worse off so keep ion keeping on lifes a garden dig it lol
WOW! It would be so cool to ride with an actual cop in North Port. I can't imagine you would do much but bust teens for drugs, pull speeders over, and whatnot. Nothing too bug ever happens around here. It would be amazing if something big did happen while you were in the car though, like a car chase or soemthing :D
ok so the ride along program didnt work out because i can only do it once a month. so instead i started interning with mr. gilliland today. right off the bat he gives the assignment of going through the list of people who purchased prom tickets and comparing it with lists of people who have fines and overdue books and stuff like that. i was like sweet, lets do this! so ill be working on that for the next few days
ok so today i continued to go through the list of prom tickets...it is a long list. and im sorry to say that there are a lot of people who are going to be denied entry and have their money returned.
the list just keeps getting longer and longer. holy crud! theres like 200 sothing people who bought tickets. unfortunately that means even more people that wont be able to go because of money that they owe for books, lunch, attendence and stuff like that.
grad nite was mechin awsome! i had a blast! so today i continued with THE LIST. i got through all of it plus the new lists from today and im sure theres more to come but hey tahts how it goes. im really enjoying this internship... im actually doing stuff!
ok so i didddnt make any progress with the list because the new sheet never came so i basically just sat there, made a few deliveries to the studetn office and the AP Secretary.
so today i got started on a new list...for seniors and their graduation eligibility. if they have fines overdue books lunch fees or they still need to return their uniforms then i have to mark them on the sheet. mr gilliland says that the next few days will be pretty uneventful...
so today wasnt that eventfull i made copies talked about stuff that didnt really pertain to anthing important but uh...I GOT MY LISENSE ON THE FIRST TRY!!!!!!!!!11
so today mr. gilliland had a lot of people come in to talk to him so i just worked on the senior checkoff list ran some errands(yeah no clue how to spell that) and that was pretty much it.
so there was a NCAA sports signing today over by the athletic department and everyone was huddled around the athletes at a table as they signed contracts and had their picture taken its all kinda foggy but i do remember there being cake. i had to run and grab mr. g a slice before they ran out and i snagged a piece for myself as well. then i got back to the list which seems to never want to end and there arent that many seniors on the list its just that there is list after list of penalties against the seniors that will prevent them from walking at graduation and there is just so much information!
so today is the last day for interning and im upset. and its not even about the fact that its over its that gilliland and i were supposed to go and yank cap and gown orders for those people who have fines or attendance problems and we didnt and i didnt even get to finish the list... ={(}
thats stinks how the ride along program didnt work out for you but cool that you found something else...that list sounded very long and boring but you sound like your having fun....cool! :)
